Lisa grew up in Manhattan, but began visiting Tahoe in her teens. Lisa attended Colgate University (B.A., Peace Studies) and the
University of California, Berkeley (MLIS). Lisa lived in Europe for years and worked as a freelance researcher and author for
publications on Gandhi, non-nuclear defense and women's rights before entering her library career, which has spanned many
different types of libraries, including Berkeley's Chicano Studies Library, UNR's Basque Studies Library, and Harvard's Widener Library.
Pat Leonard-Heffner - Media Specialist -- ext. 234

Pat has been the full-time Media Specialist at LTCC since 1989. She holds a B.F.A. and an M.A. in Art Education, as well as
three teaching credentials. She has been an adjunct instructor since 1980, teaching Photography/Digital Arts, and is currently
Program Coordinator. In addition, she has been a practicing photographic artist for 30 years, and still loves Tahoe.
Diane Lewis - Library Technician -- ext. 349

Diane is a native New Yorker who just moved to Tahoe for a more leisurely life. She has a B.A. in English (SUNY Stony Brook) and an
M.A. in Journalism (NYU). She worked in the news business for years, and has written and produced news and features for the Web,
newspapers, magazines, and for TV. She enjoys reading, writing, movies, music, hot tubbing, humor, talking, cooking, and eating.
Sarah Lowry - Instructional Aide -- ext. 232
Sarah is a current LTCC student working towards a degree in Culinary Arts with a special interest in Vegan baking. She has studied archaeology and cello at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. Sarah is also a snowboard enthusiast and a coach at Heavenly.
Peggy Meyer - Library Technician -- ext. 277

Peggy has a B.A. in Latin and an M.A. in English, and has enjoyed teaching in both areas. She also enjoys her many hobbies,
among them fencing, hiking, gardening, violin, skiing, archery, writing, and reading in many subjects.
Toni Samuel - Adjunct Librarian -- ext. 232

Toni is a native of Los Angeles where she did her undergraduate work in Spanish (USC) and her graduate work in Library Science
(UCLA). After 26 years as an elementary school librarian in Connecticut, she's happy to be back in California! She's worked at
Kingsbury Middle School for 10 years, and also at the El Dorado Public Library. Her interests are family, walking her dogs, knitting,
and reading.
Jonathan Schank - Library Technician -- ext. 232

Jonathan hails from beautiful Oahu. He has a B.A. in Art History and an English Minor from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He also
attended Musicians Institute and the now defunct University of Sound Arts. In a previous life, Jonathan enjoyed a career in media
production that took him around the globe. He is a long-time Iyengar Yoga practitioner and likes swimming, hiking, and bike riding.
Rose Valero - Library Clerk -- ext. 232

Rose is a recent LTCC grad with an AA in Psychology and Performing Arts. She's now at UNR pursuing a B.A. in Psychology with a
minor in Anthropology. Rose has studied lay midwifery and has taught adult education classes for more than 15 years in childbirth,
breastfeeding, childhood nutrition and parenting. She's also studied Shamanism for 17 years with healers from all over the world.
